Disclaimer for Telemedicine:

  1. Telemedicine does not replace the need for an in-person consultation. It is a very limited form of consultation and is merely used for situations that are non-urgent or immediate

    1. It is simply an aid to assist, during a time when in-person consultations are not possible.
    2. It considerabily restricts the doctor's ability to thoroughly assess the patient in various situations, including but not limited to Patient's physical examination, physiological cues, that are inherent to a doctor's consultation.
    3. The patient hereby agrees, that this may result in limited consultation experience and for any further asessment that the doctor may deem fit, there may be a need of an in-person consultation.
    4. This in-person consultation may not be possible, during the period of the current pandemic and the patient should seek immediate medical care, if they feel that they need urgent care.
  2. In all cases of emergency, the patient must go to the nearest hospital or nearby doctor for immediate attention. Telemedicine does not address emergency situations.

  3. Any allergies, intolerance to drugs or other drugs being taken by the patient, have to be explicitly mentioned to the doctor, before the consultation begins

  4. In scenarios where the doctor, feels that the consultation requires a physical visit, the doctor is entitled to end the consultation. In this case, the fees for any subsequent in-person consultation will be waived by the doctor.

  5. The First Consult is clearly defined by the Telemedicine Guidelines as -

    1. The patient is consulting with the doctor for the first time; or
    2. The patient has consulted with the doctor earlier, but more than 6 months have lapsed since the previous consultation; or
    3. The patient has consulted with the doctor earlier, but for a different health condition

If the doctor feels, that the patient has erroneously asked for a Follow Up consult, instead of a First Consult, the doctor will ask the patient to make a fresh First Consult - and the refund for the Follow Up consult will have to be requested by the patient by emailing us.

  6. The Follow Up consult can only be requested in the following scenarios

    1. The Patient is consulting with the doctor within 6 months of his/her previous in-person consult, and this consultation is for continuation of care of the same health condition.
    2. Follow-up can be in situations of a chronic disease or a treatment (e.g. renewal or change in medications) when a face-to-face consultation is not necessary
  7. Consult Now option means immediate consult and does not require the patient to make an appointment with the Doctor. The fees for Consult Now option are charged at premium, considering Doctor's availability.

  8. At all times, when the patient initiates the Consult, the patient's consent is Implied, per the new telemedicine guidelines.

  9. For First Consult, only drugs mentioned in the List O and List A can be prescribed

  10. For Follow up consult only drugs mentioned in List O and List B can be prescribed.

  11. Information provided by the patient to the doctor during the course of telemedicine consult, including but not limited to history, previous reports, symptoms, conversation remains with Doctor and the patient hereby consents the Doctor & OneMD to retain this information, for legal purposes. The patient hereby consents to providing OneMD with this information to understand the requirement and better serve the patients in future. Our full privacy policy is available here.

  12. The doctor at any point before, during or after the consultation may decide to cancel the consult or advise the patient to visit a nearby doctor, hospital, if they feel the patient requires an in-person consult or if they do not wish to continue the consult or if the patient is making unreasonable demands over the consult or patient misdemeanor

  13. Please refer to detailed Telemedicine Guidelines here if you have any questions or email us at aniruddha@onemd.in
